Welcome
The Players Championship
March 28, 2005

I've been trying to play a lot of golf lately to escape working and the other craziness that life sometimes kicks our way. When our friends Patrick and Amy asked if Meegy and I wanted to come down to Jacksonville to hang out and check out the THE PLAYERS Championship at Sawgrass we couldn't resist.

It was great seeing Patrick and Amy and their new digs, they made the jump from Atlanta when Patrick accepted a job with PGATour.com. Again thanx for having us out!

You can't beat seeing a tournament such as the one held annually at Sawgrass, being up close to Tiger Woods, Davis Love III, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, to name a few was way cool. Also it put into perspective how bad my game is :) Well I have my good days and many many bad days. And the course itself was amazing, hopefully one day we'll be able to come back down to play a round or two.

I should mention that it did rain a lot which was bad for the tournament but worked well around our schedule. The delays allowed us to sleep in a little and take our time grabbing lunch on Saturday. We caught a good 5 hours or so of play after a heavy morning rain and then Sunday caught play until we had to hit the road for home. Right as we drove off the storms rolled in and killed play for the rest of the day, it was like someone held the rain back just long enough for us to hang out before leaving. Sunday's play was the most memorable, I saw Sergio Garcia pitch in a shot from the rough on hole 3 and then on hole two stood right next to Vijay Singh as he hit an amazing recovery shot from the trees to the green. Dang those guys are good!
