Welcome
Bloc Party & a Crazy Russian
June 24, 2005

Here's a little music hook up to get this weekend started off on the good foot. Bloc Party is currently touring the states in support of their "Silent Alarm" CD. The folks over at NPR.org have been kind enough to stream their DC show.

On the DJ front I've come across a Russian guy that claims to have created an actual analog tape DJ mixer. That's pretty darn impressive if it does truly work, here's more info on the device.

Gadgets and Pranks
June 16, 2005

It seems like creating gadgets and add ons for iPods are the thing to be doing these days. Here are two that I thought were pretty cool.

iPod Movie player
, this could be pretty cool when traveling. Glad they thought to add some extra battery power to the package.

iPod alarm clock, another handy little set up for home. I wouldn't mind giving this a try, but the price seems a little hefty.

Now my favorite, office pranks caught on camera. This one is by far my favorite :)

And then came the rain
June 12, 2005

Day two at Music Midtown started out pleasant, but soon turned into a practical wash out.

Rain aside I wasn't about to miss hearing, Bloc Party, The Killers, etc. Here's the run down:

Louis XIV -- I don't really know much about these guys, thought they put on a pretty decent live act, going to have to see what their album is like.

Block Party -- Awesome to the 110th degree, I'm really digging their latest release Silent Alarm.

The Killers -- Another great live act, the drummer kind of reminded me of Keith Moon from The Who when he played.

Black Eyed Peas -- I probably would have enjoyed their set more had it not been pouring rain and had the retard behind Meegy and I not been bumping us around.

The Pixies -- What can you say here that hasn't already been said, great to see that these guys and a girl, are still around.

Overall a great day of live music.

Music Midtown, VIP Style
June 11, 2005

Our good friend Suzanne over at Pennhouse Productions was kind enough to hook Megan and I up with artist passes to this years Music Midtown Festival. Suzanne you rock! Then on our way into the festival area we discover that an old friend of Megan's had several extra passes to the 99x VIP area. So with in minutes of arriving, the free beer is flowing and we're bumping shoulders with the likes of Jack White from The White Stripes, Carlos D from Interpol, etc. Man I wish I would had brought a camera!

As for the show itself, Interpol was awesome, here's their set list if you're interested. The White Stripes were a dynamic duo of energy. Besides belting out some some great tunes, it was facinating seeing two people producing such a huge sound. This band shouldn't be missed if they ever roll through your town.

Today Bloc Party, The Killers, The Pixies and the Black Eyed Peas take the stage, this is going to be interesting :)

IE and Ants
June 10, 2005

I've been so busy lately I just realized I haven't updated my blog in a little while.

After a quick weekend in New York for Adam and Marsha's wedding, pictures coming soon of course, I've just been laying low trying to catch up on some much needed rest with Meegy.

Catching up on rest doesn't really produce much in the way of interesting blogging material so today's ramblings are going to focus on interesting internet finds.

To start there is a gem of an ant farm available from the fine people over at ThinkGeek. A Space-Age Habitat For Antkind is what they are calling the thing and I have to say I wouldn't mind picking one of those up.

Also Microsoft announced this week that they will be adding tab browsing to IE. Whoa, IE will actually get a nice feature that is helpful/useful and that every other browser on the planet has had for at least the past 5 years or so. Nice try Microsoft, as always a little too late.

So I think my blogging work is done here, this weekend is Music Midtown weekend and Interpol and The White Stripes are playing tonight, so it's time for me to get a life and go catch the show.
